A new species of Bruchidius (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae) from Albizia in Northern Thailand and a review of Bruchidius group 5.

A new species, Bruchidius paicus (Insecta, Coleoptera) reared from the seeds of a leguminous tree, Albizia lebbeck (Fabaceae: Mimosoideae: Ingeae), is described from Northern Thailand. Inspection of genital and external morphological traits of B. paicus revealed that the new species belongs to Bruchidius Group 5 (sensu ). Seed Beetle Bruchidius Terrenus (sharp) (coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae) – New Invasive Species to the Bulgarian Fauna

The East Palaearctic seed beetle Bruchidius terrenus (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae) is recorded for the first time to the Bulgarian fauna. Larvae of the bruchid infest mature seeds of introduced mimosa Albizia julibrissin (Fabacea), an ornamental tree in many countries. The level of damage on seeds caused by bruchid larvae was examined.

Molecular phylogenetics, systematics and host-plant associations of the Bruchidius albosparsus (Fåhraeus) species group (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae, Bruchinae) with the description of four new species.

Bruchidius Schilsky is a large paraphyletic genus of seed beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae) which consists of multiple lineages that are usually associated with narrow sets of host-plants. In this study we focus on a group that mostly develops on wattle trees (acacias) belonging to the genus Vachellia Wight & Arn. This group originally included nine species and was designated as th...

A remarkable new species group of green seed beetles from genus Amblycerus Thunberg (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae, Bruchinae), with description of a new Brazilian species

REPRESENTATIVES OF THE SUBFAMILY BRUCHINAE (COLEOPTERA Chrysomelidae) are usually small and inconspicuous, with only a few species drawing the attention. Here we deal with several unusually colored species of Amblycerus Thunberg, 1815, one of the two most diverse bruchine genera in the Western hemisphere. We define the virens group that consists of five species whose bodies are covered with a g...

A new genus and species of Bruchinae, with a key to the genera from Australia (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae).

A new genus of Bruchinae, Buburra Reid & Beatson, is erected for a single new species, B. jeanae Reid & Beatson. Buburra is endemic to Australia where it is known from a single site at high altitude in Victoria. The hostplant is unknown. Buburra is placed in the tribe Pachymerini. A key is provided for identification of the 12 genera of Bruchinae in Australia, including Caryotrypes Decelle, 196...
